Project Overview
TalkPHR is the patient-facing companion portal and mobile application connected to the CareCloud healthcare network. It empowers patients to check their lab results, securely message their doctors, pay medical bills, and join telehealth video consultations from their smartphones.
The engineering challenge was building a mobile application that was intuitive and accessible enough for elderly patients to navigate easily, while simultaneously maintaining the enterprise-grade security required for handling sensitive medical data.
Testing Strategy & Focus
I planned and executed comprehensive testing across iOS, Android, and responsive web browser environments.
• I verified the real-time data synchronization engine. I ensured that when a doctor updated a diagnosis or lab result in the main provider EHR, it synced immediately, accurately, and securely to the patient's mobile app.
• I tested the secure messaging system thoroughly, verifying that text and attachments (like photos of physical symptoms) were encrypted end-to-end and delivered correctly to the provider's inbox.
• I performed extensive usability testing on the mobile appointment scheduling and bill payment flows. I logged detailed bugs for any steps that felt confusing, required too many taps, or broke layout on smaller mobile screens.
Business Impact
We launched the patient mobile app with a highly stable, polished build, which resulted in strong positive reviews on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
By aggressively identifying and fixing data synchronization bugs prior to launch, we ensured patients always had instant access to their most up-to-date health information, reducing phone call volume to the medical practices.
